/6/09 Hello everyone - We finally got away on Saturday morning, a few days late but on Steve’s birthday which was fantastic. Our first day was long but we found a great spot at Amby, behind the pub – free! We parked up next to two old nomads – Jack and Neville, who had sold up home and were just traveling around the country doing no more than 50 klm a day. They got the ‘piggy’ going and Pat and Barry came and joined us – they were from some funny named place called Mudgeeraba!!!! They left on Saturday morning just like us. We had a great first night.

/6/09 Off the next morning later than planned but we made it to a camp site in Ilfracombe in time to put the tent up before dark. Nice showers too.
/6/09 Then up early. Stopped briefly at Winton for coffee. Had a quick look around the museum for Qantas and Banjo Patterson. We have arrived at a camp site just before Mount Isa by a Dam. Steve is in his element as we had to do our first bit of off road to get here. It is our first ‘off site’ experience and we’re both grinning like Cheshire cats. Beer in hand watching the moon come up. Hope you like the first lot of photos.
/6/09 Typing this up early morning in Mount Isa.

That looks like fun - can't wait till we get time to do something like that.
